Leucoderma (Vitiligo) is a chronic skin condition that is characterized by patchy loss of skin pigmentation, resulting in irregular white patches of skin. This website offers an indigenous treatment of Leucoderma/ Vitiligo based on natural herbs by Naturalist Raza H. Tehsin.
Leucoderma (Vitiligo) is a chronic skin condition that is characterized by patchy loss of skin pigmentation, resulting in irregular white patches of skin. The white patches often change shape, shrink or grow. They may even remain constant throughout the life. They may at times occur symmetrically on both sides of the body. In rare cases a person can have lip-tip vitiligo, which is vitiligo/leucoderma on lips, fingertips and toes. Vitiligo on the scalp may affect the color of the hair (though not always), leaving white streaks. It similarly may affect facial and body hair. The disorder occurs when the melanocytes, cells responsible for skin pigmentation, function abnormally or die.
The precise cause of vitiligo is complex and not fully understood. It is attributed to a combination of environmental, genetic and autoimmune factors. Sometimes an accidental cut, ulcer or rash may damage the melanocytes cells, which produce melanin pigment, and cause white spots on skin.
It is common in people with immunity problems. It may also be caused by stress affecting the immune system. A combination of factors like autoimmune problem, genetic factor and stress may result in this disorder.
It may begin at any age from children under one year of age to males and females above the age of 80. Generally around half of the people affected by this disease develop the patches before their twenties.
The spread of the white patches on skin varies from person to person. In some individuals the white spots on skin may not spread at all and remain constant the entire life. In others the spread may be gradual and in certain cases it may spread very fast within a few months time.
If a treatment given by a vitiligo specialist suits the body, vitiligo can be cured in many cases.
NON-CONTAGIOUS AND NON-INFECTIOUS Leucoderma/ Vitiligo is not a contagious disorder. It is not spread by touch as it is not caused by any bacteria, virus or germ. It is a totally benign disorder and neither harms the patient nor the people around him/her.
HEREDITARY It may become a hereditary condition and may, in certain cases, pass on in the family. Many patients have a family history of leucoderma/ vitiligo and the disorder may even surface later in life. But it has been observed in many cases that the children of a parent suffering from leucoderma/vitiligo are not affected by it. At the same time, many people with no family history develop leucoderma/vitiligo.
STRESS AND SOCIAL STIGMA
Other than the cosmetic skin problem, many patients face psychological stress, which in turn may result in increased susceptibility to vitiligo. There is a social stigma attached to this disease affecting the social well-being of the patient, especially in countries like India, where the people are dark skinned and white patches on face, lips, hands and exposed skin stand out.
Often in India vitiligo/ leucoderma is equated with leprosy. But this disease is not spread by touch as it is not caused by any bacteria, virus or germ. It is a totally benign disorder and neither harms the patient nor the people around him/her.
The individuals suffering from the disease should not shy away from social gatherings and maintain self-confidence. The family and friends should help the patients, especially children, to cope up with this skin de-colouration problem that does not harm the body in any other way.
SYMPTOMS:
Leucoderma/ Vitiligo cannot be termed as diseases as it is a purely cosmetic problem and is more suitably termed as skin disorders.
CONVENTIONAL TREATMENTS:
Vitiligo / Leucoderma is largely considered incurable and a very difficult disease.
Some of these have their ill-effects, are not a proven cure and are generally unaffordable by the masses. Prolonged exposure to UV rays may cause Skin Cancer and other problems like cataract.
Vitiligo cure in ayurveda (ayurvedic treatment of vitiligo) consists of a combination of age-old healing herbs, many of which are good for the overall health and immunity of the body.

Mrs. Shefail Shah (Mother Of Patient), Gujarat
Patient's Age: 7
"I am from Gujarat having a daughter seven years old who was detected with vitiligo three years back. We tried every possibility with Allopathy and homeopathy but couldn't get the result. And then we came to know of Dr. Tehsin whom we visited with hope. To our surprise within 6 months we started getting results. Though the journey is far as my daughter's 90% body is covered but Dr. sahib is hopeful. It boots our confidence to get her treated. Thank you is very small word for Dr. Tehsin. And best part of the medicine is that there is no food restriction and my daughter who is fond of swimming can do that also. I wish more and more people get the advantage of Dr. Tehsin’s treatment."

“I had got Leucoderma at the age of 15. I was given Homeopathic as well as Allopathic medicines for a long time. But rather than curing the disease, it resulted in spreading of the White Spots all over the body. I had to take a lot of precautions in eating food and consequently faced a lot of problem. Finally, when we were losing hope, my parents got the herbal medicine from Mr. Raza Tehsin. While I was taking this medicine, I had no restriction on consuming any kind of food and this was a big relief.I totally got rid of the disease. Today I am 38 years old and the disease of White spots did not re-occur again.”

Mr. Gaurav, Banglore
Patient's Age: 25
“My experience with the treatment is very good. I had never tried any ayurvedic/herbal treatment for anything before so was slightly skeptical about it. However, the treatment is very fast and effective for me with no side effects whatsoever. The progress has been substantial in the last 4-5 months and many large spots on my face, hands and legs have totally disappeared. The medicine schedule is not complicated and easy to follow even for a working person or student.”
